Late 2019–Present: Successfully passed the exam to become a Teacher Educator (Teacher Trainer) and returned to work in Battambang Province at Battambang Teacher Education College, where I remain dedicated to my role.
I am currently honored and delighted to be pursuing a Ph.D. in Global Health Science at the University of the Ryukyus, Japan.
I expect to complete my doctoral studies in 2027. Upon graduation, I look forward to bringing the research expertise and knowledge I have gained in Japan back to Cambodia to share with my student-teachers and colleagues at my institution.
Message
My personal educational philosophy is: "One who knows others is clever, but one who knows oneself is enlightened."
People living across the globe may belong to different races, colors, traditions, cultures, languages, religions, and beliefs; however, they share a singular fundamental purpose: to live with adequate food, clothing, shelter, and the tools and necessities of life. This ensures they have the strength, freedom, and capability to exist. The education every individual requires—regardless of nationality or country—aims to support life and encompass both mental and physical well-being.
I believe that as an educator with a positive influence on student-teachers, it is vital to understand their needs and help them discover who they are, where they come from, what they are doing, why they are doing it, and for whom they are doing it. This is the most crucial element in developing human resources today.
While the phrase "knowing oneself" is easy to write, it is incredibly difficult to find and understand oneself. Yet if we clearly know ourselves and our own needs, we naturally understand others' needs.
In my work teaching and educating student-teachers, I always focus on how to help them acquire:
-
Knowledge and Professional Skills
-
Research and In-depth Analytical Abilities
-
Mindfulness and Positive Thinking
I want them to maintain these qualities as much as possible, even when facing life's most difficult situations. For humanity as a whole, the goal is to improve physical and mental health. Understanding one's own value and knowing how to value others is essential for a harmonious life.As a teacher educator, I believe that employing a variety of methods and approaches to promote student-teachers' learning—to help each achieve their goals—is essential. I am convinced that educators who truly know their students will never tire of providing educational services, no matter the circumstances.
A teacher who knows their students is clever, but a teacher who knows themselves is enlightened and possesses the integrity to act with purpose.
If you wish to elevate the education of your students, you must first be the person who has worked to elevate your own education.
