Working experience
After I obtained my nursing license, I engaged in clinical nursing practice in a pediatric ward for two years. Five years later, I completed my master’s degree in International Health. Having earned my graduate degree, I decided to work as a program officer for the Non Profit Organizatoin Health and Development Service (HANDS) for one year and for JICA in a project on Ensuring Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Service in Indonesia for two years. My involvement in the JICA project enabled me to contribute to the development and promotion of an MCH Handbook for Indonesia.
When I returned to Japan, I decided to work as a public health nurse at the public health center in Saitama prefecture and the section of maternal and child health, international relations and support elderly person under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. I have also been involved in a maternal and child health project in Palestine. I entered the doctoral course at Tokyo University in 2009 and after that worked for nursing education at the Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing.
